Manor house that belonged to the magnate and benefactor Don Juan March. This property houses, on its ground floor, what was the first office of the Banca Juan March, opened in 1905. Here began the forging of what would become the 7th largest fortune in the world.
The house stands on a plot of 740 m2, behind an austere façade - typically Mallorcan - that does not reveal the importance of the business that took place behind its doors. Built between 1902 and 1905 by demolishing three semi-detached houses, the March manor house housed the beginning of their fortune through the granting of loans; the tobacco business from their factories in Algiers; or the parcelling out of large rural estates that were later sold to farmers.
